Wellbeing and workload are heavily affected by unit planning, lesson planning, and the quality of teaching resources. My staff voice data shows the same pattern in every school I work with: educators want time to plan, opportunities to collaborate, and support while doing it. It’s one of the biggest needs raised across staff voice collections.
The challenge is knowing what high-quality planning looks like and how to do it well. Too often, planning gets outsourced or educators are left to figure it out alone. This might get the job done, but it doesn’t build collective efficacy, capability, or confidence.
Drawing on my experience in staff wellbeing, workload reduction, curriculum design, planning systems, and explicit teaching, I support educators to build their capability — not just collect more resources or templates.
